Making Sense of Your Story Starts Here
Sometimes, the struggle isn't just about what’s happening now. It's understanding how you got here, why certain patterns keep showing up, and why the ways you've learnt to cope no longer seem to be working.
Together, we begin to make sense of the story beneath the struggle, creating space for greater understanding, compassion, and a different way forward.
Making Sense Of Your Story.
Many people come to counselling knowing something isn't working, yet struggling to understand why they keep finding themselves in the same patterns.
The anxiety, overthinking, people pleasing, perfectionism, burnout, relationship difficulties or challenges with boundaries that bring someone to counselling rarely appear out of nowhere. More often, these patterns developed over time as ways of adapting to the experiences, relationships and circumstances that shaped them.
As the pieces begin to come together, people often start to see themselves differently. What once felt confusing begins to make more sense. They can see how the strategies that once helped them cope may now be getting in the way of the life they want to live.
There is often a sense of relief in discovering they are not broken. Instead, they begin to understand themselves with greater compassion, curiosity and grace, opening the door to new possibilities and a different way forward.

You don’t need to have it all figured out before you begin.
Life can feel heavy sometimes. You may be carrying anxiety, grief, burnout, relationship struggles, or simply the sense that something isn't working the way it used to. Whatever brings you here, you don't have to navigate it alone.
I'm Lisa, a PACFA-registered clinical counsellor based in Brisbane, offering in-person and online counselling for adults.
